Despite a disappointment, a good price for Jacopo de' Barbari
In July 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Albrecht Of Brandenburg (1490-1545) by Jacopo de' Barbari for GBP 1,448,750.00 (€ 1,616,582.53). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Evening Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Portrait Of Albrecht Of Brandenburg (1490-1545) is the most expensive artwork by Jacopo de' Barbari that we have observed at auction so far.
