Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Clorinda Rescuing Olindo And Sophronia by Jacopo Amigoni was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 160,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 115,805.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo Amigoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,604,480.46).
