Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacobus Vonck could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work A Still Life Of Melons, Grapes, Peaches And Other Fruits In A Stone Urn With Birds changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,497.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacobus Vonck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo, A Golden Pheasant, A Cardinal And A Toucan In A Landscape in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 170,220.97).
In der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings wechselte die Arbeit A Still Life Of Melons, Grapes, Peaches And Other Fruits In A Stone Urn With Birds für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.497,22) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00.
