Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A scholar in his study by Jacob van Spreeuwen was sold in the Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,101.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Spreeuwen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interior Of A Kitchen With A Seated Woman Peeling Onions, A Child Hiding Behind Her, And A Child Holding A Cabbage On A Barrel in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 61,997.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A scholar in his study von Jacob van Spreeuwen wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.101,32) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob van Spreeuwen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Interior Of A Kitchen With A Seated Woman Peeling Onions, A Child Hiding Behind Her, And A Child Holding A Cabbage On A Barrel im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 61.997,70).
