A top price for Jacob van Spreeuwen - as previously expected
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Interior Of A Kitchen With A Seated Woman Peeling Onions, A Child Hiding Behind Her, And A Child Holding A Cabbage On A Barrel by Jacob van Spreeuwen. The price achieved of USD 75,600.00 (€ 61,997.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Interior Of A Kitchen With A Seated Woman Peeling Onions, A Child Hiding Behind Her, And A Child Holding A Cabbage On A Barrel is the most expensive artwork by Jacob van Spreeuwen that we have observed at auctions so far.
