Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings, which included the work Deer By The Banks Of A Lake by Jacob Thompson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,208.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Thompson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Course Of True Love Never Did Run Smooth in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,647.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deer By The Banks Of A Lake von Jacob Thompson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.208,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Thompson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Course Of True Love Never Did Run Smooth im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.647,47).
