Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations, which included the work Dutch polder landscape with a village beyond by Jacob Jan van der Maaten. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Jan van der Maaten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A summer landscape with villagers on a track by a windmill in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 49,148.40 (€ 23,589.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch polder landscape with a village beyond von Jacob Jan van der Maaten zur Versteigerung kam.
