Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a young woman as the Penitent Magdalene by Jacob Duck for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,624.67). This price was achieved in the auction Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Duck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory of Faith in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 542,500.00 (€ 391,131.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a young woman as the Penitent Magdalene von Jacob Duck für GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.624,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Duck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Allegory of Faith im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 542.500,00 (€ 391.131,94).
