Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work An Ensign seated in a guardroom, with officers playing at cards and a woman smoking by a chimney by Jacob Duck for USD 126,000.00 (€ 110,120.61). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Duck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Allegory of Faith, which sold at auction in January 2010 for USD 542,500.00 (€ 391,131.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An Ensign seated in a guardroom, with officers playing at cards and a woman smoking by a chimney von Jacob Duck für USD 126.000,00 (€ 110.120,61) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Masters bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Duck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Allegory of Faith beobachtet, die im Januar 2010 für USD 542.500,00 (€ 391.131,94) versteigert wurde.
