Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Cow In A Field, Facing Right by Jacob Cats. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,500.00 – 4,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,273.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Cats have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Month Of December: A Winter Landscape With Skaters And Sledges On A Frozen River By A Village, Possibly The Village Of Nieuwland, Near Leerdam in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 26,250.00 (€ 24,233.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cow In A Field, Facing Right von Jacob Cats zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.273,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Cats auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Month Of December: A Winter Landscape With Skaters And Sledges On A Frozen River By A Village, Possibly The Village Of Nieuwland, Near Leerdam im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 26.250,00 (€ 24.233,75).
