Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mystic Shore by Jack Wilkinson Smith was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in November this year. The price achieved of USD 11,520.00 (€ 10,561.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Wilkinson Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Canyon in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 287,500.00 (€ 216,833.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mystic Shore von Jack Wilkinson Smith wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.520,00 (€ 10.561,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Wilkinson Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Canyon im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 287.500,00 (€ 216.833,85).
