The work Midday Sun by Jack Wilkinson Smith was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,287.50 (€ 8,028.19), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Wilkinson Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Canyon in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 287,500.00 (€ 216,833.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Midday Sun von Jack Wilkinson Smith wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 8.028,19) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Wilkinson Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Canyon im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 287.500,00 (€ 216.833,85).
