In November 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Loftus Street, Darling Point by Jack Kilgour. The price achieved of AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,623.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,500.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jack Kilgour have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian The Desert Wind in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 20,400.00 (€ 12,198.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Loftus Street, Darling Point von Jack Kilgour zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.182,50 (€ 2.623,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.500,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Kilgour auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian The Desert Wind im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 20.400,00 (€ 12.198,72).
