The »bidding war« ended at AUD 7,380.00 (€ 4,423.32), 23% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Kilgour - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian The Desert Wind, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 20,400.00 (€ 12,198.72).
