The work Fishes Underwater by Jaap Gidding was worth EUR 4,200.00 to a buyer in November 2006. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Decorative Arts at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 1,200.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jaap Gidding; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Underwater sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of EUR 5,040.00.
