Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Thames by J. Williams was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2005. The price achieved of GBP 360.00 (€ 522.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A terrier in a wheat field in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,105.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the Thames von J. Williams kam im Juli 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 360,00 (€ 522,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A terrier in a wheat field im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.465,00 (€ 7.105,22).
