Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by J. Wallace could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work A Herder Keeping An Eye On His Livestock; And Figures In A Pastoral Landscape At Sunset changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 478.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by J. Wallace - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waiting for mistress, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,643.12).
