Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by J. Wallace could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction, the work A fruitful harvest changed hands for GBP 264.00 (€ 398.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by J. Wallace have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waiting for mistress in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,643.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von J. Wallace konnte im Januar 2007 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit A fruitful harvest für GBP 264,00 (€ 398,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von J. Wallace auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waiting for mistress im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.643,12).
