Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2003 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Pictures, which included the work Poultry in a field by Jef Louis Van Leemputten. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 1,656.96). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jef Louis Van Leemputten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tending the flock, which sold at auction in March 2001 for USD 4,465.00 (€ 5,077.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poultry in a field von Jef Louis Van Leemputten zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.645,00 (€ 1.656,96) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jef Louis Van Leemputten mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tending the flock beobachtet, die im März 2001 für USD 4.465,00 (€ 5.077,33) versteigert wurde.
