Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Oluweri Headdress, Hairstyle Series, 1972 by J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 3,528.00 (€ 3,917.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hairstyles Series, 1968-1975 in May 2021 with an auction result of EUR 42,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Oluweri Headdress, Hairstyle Series, 1972 von J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 3.917,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hairstyles Series, 1968-1975 im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 42.500,00.
