Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Nigerian 'Oluweri Headress', Hd-662A/72, Hairstyles Series, 1972 by J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,933.65). Admittedly, works by J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hairstyles Series, 1968-1975 in May 2021 with an auction result of EUR 42,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Nigerian 'Oluweri Headress', Hd-662A/72, Hairstyles Series, 1972 von J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.933,65) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hairstyles Series, 1968-1975 im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 42.500,00.
