This artwork by J.B. Murray achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February last year. In the Outsider Art auction, the work Untitled (multicolored), circa 1986 sold for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,677.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by J.B. Murray; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Green), circa 1986 sold at auction in February last year with the realized price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,352.64).
