Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2017 Christies in London held the auction Avant-Garde: Photographs from the Shalom Shpilman Collection, which included the work Articulated Mannequin Arm, circa 1931 by Iwao Yamawaki. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,687.17). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Iwao Yamawaki - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bather collage, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,342.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Avant-Garde: Photographs from the Shalom Shpilman Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Articulated Mannequin Arm, circa 1931 von Iwao Yamawaki zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.687,17) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Iwao Yamawaki mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bather collage beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.342,16) versteigert wurde.
