Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work ”Porträtt av Axel Törneman” (Portrait of the artist Axel Törneman) by Ivar Arosenius was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - SEK 40,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at SEK 165,000.00 (€ 15,783.59). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ivar Arosenius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Bacchi sjö' (The Sea of Bacchus), which sold at auction in December 2021 for SEK 540,000.00 (€ 52,673.62).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ”Porträtt av Axel Törneman” (Portrait of the artist Axel Törneman) von Ivar Arosenius im Juni 2018 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – SEK 40.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit SEK 165.000,00 (€ 15.783,59) mehr als viermal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Ivar Arosenius mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Bacchi sjö' (The Sea of Bacchus) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für SEK 540.000,00 (€ 52.673,62) versteigert wurde.
