Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work An amorous couple before a mirror by Isoda Koryusai was sold in the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction at Sothebys in London in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 900.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,008.00 (€ 1,172.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isoda Koryusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Courtesan promenading with attendants beneath cherry blossoms, c. 1770s in March 2009 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,278.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit An amorous couple before a mirror von Isoda Koryusai wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.008,00 (€ 1.172,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isoda Koryusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Courtesan promenading with attendants beneath cherry blossoms, c. 1770s im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 28.278,41).
