The work Courtesan promenading with attendants beneath cherry blossoms, c. 1770s by Isoda Koryusai was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2009. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,278.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Courtesan promenading with attendants beneath cherry blossoms, c. 1770s is the most expensive artwork by Isoda Koryusai that we have observed at auctions so far.
