Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Isaac Cooke could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Lake Como from Bellagio looking down the Lecco arm changed hands for GBP 117.50 (€ 189.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Other works by Isaac Cooke have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2005 by the work The Great Stone Face, Dovedale, Derbyshire at GBP 228.00 (€ 337.91).
