In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS, which included the work The Great Stone Face, Dovedale, Derbyshire by Isaac Cooke. The price achieved of GBP 228.00 (€ 337.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Great Stone Face, Dovedale, Derbyshire is the most expensive artwork by Isaac Cooke that we have observed at auctions so far.
