Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Isaac Cooke could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER auction, the work A mountainous lake landscape changed hands for GBP 94.00 (€ 135.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Cooke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Stone Face, Dovedale, Derbyshire, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 228.00 (€ 337.91).
