This work without title by Irving Petlin was sold in the The Surrealist World of Rosalind Gersten Jacobs & Melvin Jacobs Online Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,174.17), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Irving Petlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rubbings From The Calcium Garden...Sarah Born in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,564.47).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Irving Petlin wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Surrealist World of Rosalind Gersten Jacobs & Melvin Jacobs Online Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.174,17) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Irving Petlin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rubbings From The Calcium Garden...Sarah Born im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.564,47).
