Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Morris Graves, Painter by Imogen Cunningham was auctioned at Bonhams in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 408.00 (€ 381.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Imogen Cunningham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calla in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 312,472.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Morris Graves, Painter von Imogen Cunningham im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 408,00 (€ 381,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Imogen Cunningham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calla im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 312.472,10).
