Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Imogen Collier could be acquired at Christies in London in April 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work A Camel In The Desert; And Donkeys For Hire, Luxor changed hands for GBP 143.40 (€ 128.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Imogen Collier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A chestnut hunter with a lady up in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,127.98).
