Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Exempt From Public Haunt" (The Forest In Autumn) by Ila Mae McAfee was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,241.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ila Mae McAfee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Willows, which sold at auction in June 2002 for USD 10,755.00 (€ 10,912.13).
