In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Paintings, which included the work Russian Forest: The Return by Igor Novikov. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,136.13), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Igor Novikov have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2009 the work Goodbye Russia. Welcome (from the 'Apocalypse' series) was auctioned for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,336.66).
