In October 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Preludes...Sergei Rachmaninoff by Idris Khan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 88,200.00 (€ 76,350.42), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Idris Khan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work (I) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Prison Type Gasholders (Ii) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Spherical Type Gasholders (Iii) Every... Bernd And Hilla Becher Gable Side Houses, which sold at auction in October 2012 for GBP 181,250.00 (€ 225,352.58).

Im Oktober 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Preludes...Sergei Rachmaninoff von Idris Khan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 76.350,42) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
