Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Elves and Fairies by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite. The price achieved of AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,898.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work I Am Kexy, Friend To Fairies, which sold at auction in August 2004 for AUD 23,900.00 (€ 13,871.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elves and Fairies von Ida Rentoul Outhwaite zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.462,50 (€ 3.898,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ida Rentoul Outhwaite mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit I Am Kexy, Friend To Fairies beobachtet, die im August 2004 für AUD 23.900,00 (€ 13.871,53) versteigert wurde.
