Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Circus Series # 18 by Ida Kohlmeyer was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 7,050.00 (€ 4,164.80). Admittedly, works by Ida Kohlmeyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape No. 1 in March last year with an auction result of USD 27,720.00 (€ 24,988.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Circus Series # 18 von Ida Kohlmeyer im August 2003 bei Christies in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 7.050,00 (€ 4.164,80) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ida Kohlmeyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape No. 1 im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 24.988,73).
