Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Sudanese geometric Study by Ibrahim el-Salahi. The price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,457.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ibrahim el-Salahi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tree in October last year with an auction result of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 80,733.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sudanese geometric Study von Ibrahim el-Salahi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.457,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ibrahim el-Salahi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tree im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 80.733,73).
