Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Iberê Camargo could be acquired at Christies in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Fantasmagoria V changed hands for USD 63,000.00 (€ 56,792.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Iberê Camargo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sem Título in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 394,000.00 (€ 353,839.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Iberê Camargo konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art wechselte die Arbeit Fantasmagoria V für USD 63.000,00 (€ 56.792,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Iberê Camargo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sem Título im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 394.000,00 (€ 353.839,25).
