This artwork by Ian Houston achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2002. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction, the work At Kyleakin, Isle of Skye sold for GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,728.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ian Houston; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot On the North Norfolk Coast sold at auction in February 2002 with the realized price of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,067.97).
