Inscribed by Bateson on the reverse: 'I Poegeg, Panti, Sanoer'. the artist was a member of the Pita Maha artists' association. He is also known as: I Poegig, Ketut Poegig, and Ketut Poegoeg. the collection Bateson & Mead recorded eleven works under the name of Poegeg, eight works under the name of Poegig, and two works under the name of Poegoeg. Not to be confused with his colleague Ida Bagus Made Poegoeg.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by I Poegeg could be acquired at Christies in Singapore in September 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PRE-WAR BALINESE MODERNISTS: 1928-1942 auction, the work Idle Hours changed hands for SGD 4,700.00 (€ 2,923.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SGD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by I Poegeg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jaloezie: Jealousy, which sold at auction in September 2001 for SGD 15,275.00 (€ 9,500.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von I Poegeg konnte im September 2001 bei Christies in Singapur für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion PRE-WAR BALINESE MODERNISTS: 1928-1942 wechselte die Arbeit Idle Hours für SGD 4.700,00 (€ 2.923,10) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SGD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von I Poegeg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jaloezie: Jealousy beobachtet, die im September 2001 für SGD 15.275,00 (€ 9.500,08) versteigert wurde.
