Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part I, which included this untitled work by Hussein Shariffe. The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,680.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hussein Shariffe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Songlines: For Bruce Chatwin, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,597.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part I durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Hussein Shariffe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.680,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hussein Shariffe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Songlines: For Bruce Chatwin beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 40.597,49) versteigert wurde.
