Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The House Of Winds by Hussein Shariffe was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,115.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hussein Shariffe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Songlines: For Bruce Chatwin, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,597.49).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.115,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hussein Shariffe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Songlines: For Bruce Chatwin beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 40.597,49) versteigert wurde.
