Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sudanese Birth And Death Of The Stars by Hussein Shariffe was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,541.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hussein Shariffe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Songlines: For Bruce Chatwin, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,597.49).

Die Arbeit Sudanese Birth And Death Of The Stars von Hussein Shariffe kam im April 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.541,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
