Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Splash XV by Hung Fai was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2021. The price achieved of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,288.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hung Fai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Splash VI, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 54,627.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Splash XV von Hung Fai wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.288,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hung Fai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Splash VI beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 54.627,25) versteigert wurde.
