In March 2018 Christies in Dubai held the auction Dubai: Post War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Good Luck by Huguette Caland. The »bidding war« ended at USD 162,500.00 (€ 131,899.35), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huguette Caland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bribes de Corps (Body Parts), which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 250,000.00 (€ 289,982.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Dubai: Post War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Good Luck von Huguette Caland zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 131.899,35) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Huguette Caland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bribes de Corps (Body Parts) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 250.000,00 (€ 289.982,07) versteigert wurde.
