Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Cornfield With Two Workers Walking Along A Path by Hugo Darnaut was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 4,487.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hugo Darnaut - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Austrian winterlandschaft (A Winter'S Day), which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,042.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Cornfield With Two Workers Walking Along A Path von Hugo Darnaut kam im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 4.487,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Hugo Darnaut mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Austrian winterlandschaft (A Winter'S Day) beobachtet, die im November 2013 für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.042,08) versteigert wurde.
