Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner, which included the work Collection Of Five Volumes, Comprising: by Hugh Thomson. The price achieved of GBP 688.00 (€ 848.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hugh Thomson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Fountain In Saint James'S Park, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,537.48).

Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Collection Of Five Volumes, Comprising: von Hugh Thomson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 688,00 (€ 848,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hugh Thomson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Fountain In Saint James'S Park beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.537,48) versteigert wurde.
