Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hubert-François Gravelot could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Online auction, the work Designs For A Vignette: A) Final Design B) Sketch changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 564.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hubert-François Gravelot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Collection Of 79 Designs For Bookplates, Metalwork, Prints And Book Illustrations in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,437.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hubert-François Gravelot konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Online wechselte die Arbeit Designs For A Vignette: A) Final Design B) Sketch für GBP 500,00 (€ 564,19) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hubert-François Gravelot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Collection Of 79 Designs For Bookplates, Metalwork, Prints And Book Illustrations im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.637,50 (€ 12.437,12).
