The work Strange Mountain by Huang Zhongfang was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 30,000.00 (€ 3,171.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by Huang Zhongfang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 13,048.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Strange Mountain von Huang Zhongfang wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 30.000,00 (€ 3.171,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Huang Zhongfang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 13.048,04).
